		This house was known as 'The Mount' on Station Road in Hailsham. It was demolished in the 1960s and is now covered by a housing estate. PAST RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES ACCORDING TO THE HAILSHAM DIRECTORIES: -- 1878 Joseph BURFIELD (rope maker) -- 1882 George STRICKLAND (probably one of the Strickland Brothers who were corn merchants.
