Honeysett

This grave is in the back yard of Baptist Chapel, Hailsham

TEXT:

"In affectionate remembrance of
Levi HONEYSETT,
the beloved husband of
Ellen HONEYSETT,
who died January 26th, 1877,
aged 40 years
"Not lost; but gone before."

Levi Honeysett was a carpenter, son of David HONEYSETT and Elizabeth (CORNFORD). His death was registered at Hailsham in the first quarter of 1877, St Cats ref 2b 49. He was baptised on 19 June 1836 at Heathfield Independent, according to the IGI.

Levi's siblings were Thomas (1817), David (1818), Trayton (1820), Eliza (1822),Elizabeth (1824) - marr. Ric. Wood, Mary Ann (1825), Samuel (1827), William (1830), Orpah (1832), George (1834), Charlotte, (1838) and Jane (1841). The IGI has the wedding of David HUNNESETT and Eliz CORNFORD on 20 April 1816 at Warbleton.

David's parents were David HUNNISETT and Mary (MATHEWS) who were married at Herstmonceux by banns, on 26 Sept 1783, witness John HUNNISETT. David HUNNISETT's parents probably were John HONYSETT and Mary HARMER, married at Herstmonceux by banns, both otp, on 21 April 1755.
