On December 12, 1896 Edwin Isaac BAKER (59) and four of his children - Ruth (26), Alice (16) , Nellie (14), and George (12) - boarded the mail steamer 'Paris, departed England and made the United States their new home. Following are photos of the Second Cabin Passenger List. Many years later, George Joseph Baker would recall how miserably sick his whole family was on board and the terrible storm that almost destroyed the ship.
